I have submitted reviews for both apps by the same name to the app store: the two reviews are identical and I specifically mention being a voiceover user. Hopefully they will be approved and show up in the app store soon.

If you buy both apps, when they download, they both show up as AudioSwitcher on your computer: one word with a capital "A" and a capital "S" but both one word. The distinction in the app store names is gone. I purchased both at the same time basically and one of them downloaded as an app while the other downloaded with a folder containing the app and only the app. I don't know if they were designed that way or if they were downloaded with one in a folder because they both had the same name and one would have overwritten the other. But they definitely are two different apps and if you want the right one you really have to pay attention. The one that works for me is the one that downloaded as a folder, though this may be only because I downloaded it after downloading the other one by the same name. It is the more expensive one. It is also the one that has only one review: a bad review that says it could be killed only in Activity Monitor. I am suspecting that this person actually had the other app and put a review in the wrong place but I can't be sure of this. If you look carefully at the information in the app store, you will know that you want the one that shows 2.0.4 as the version and in addition to a link for support shows a link to a website for Lorenzo Thurman. It is the one that shows up in the app store with the space so that "audio Switcher" is two words. It does not open as an actual app with its own window as far as I can tell. But it creates an extras menu which opens with vo-m once you locate it in the extras menu and has options in it, including a quit option that does work. I haven't explored this yet but it's possible that there's also an option to show the app in a window as I know some apps have that as an option. The other app, the one that does not work for me, will be listed as version 2.24.7. It is the one that costs just $0.99 and shows the developer as Paul ONeil. Ironically, it is the one that has almost all the reviews, a lot of them good, so either this really works for some people or people chose the first app by this name in the app store and assumed it was the one they had and did their reviews there. After opening it, I can find no trace of it anywhere except in Activity Monitor and that was the only place where I could kill the process. -- Cheryl Go beyond the Christmas story this year; meet Immanuel (God with us), Jesus, the crucified Savior, Christ, the risen LORD!!! One wonders if people kept straight which app they had bought and were reviewing. I'm considering buying both of them just to straighten out the confusion and then writing a review on both of them to clear up the mess. -- Cheryl Go beyond the Christmas story this year; meet Immanuel (God with us), Jesus, the crucified Savior, Christ, the risen LORD!!! Dumb me, as I remember reading about this app on this list, and when I went to the app store and read the app description it sounded like the app I wanted the .99 cents version, never in a million years would have thought that there would be an app with the same name that does the same thing and one works and one does not. I should have read the reviews of the app before spending the .99 very fishy, and like you said I to am surprised Apple would allow two apps with the same name to exist. Will have to look in to the other app and contact Apple for a refund even if it is only .99, interesting that the reviewer says the app does not work, surprised that Apple allows it to still exist in the app store. The whole thing is very strange and considering I buy a lot of apps this is a first. Thanks again for doing the due diligence that I should have done myself. Best, and Happy Holidays.
