That used to be true, but it was fixed a while ago. Alert boxes now work as 
expected, to my knowledge. I don't use Pages enough to know what could do with 
some scripting, but if anyone identifies a case where a script might be faster, 
it's worth looking into. This is what scripting is for, after all.
