Actually, I still like the Infovox voices; have been using them for quite a while. But occasionally Alex somehow takes over and I have to turn voiceover off and back on again to fix this. I don't at all think the Infovox voices now sound like "carap" but I realize that voices are a very individual matter. But just so you know whether my voice tastes would be the same as your or not, I don't really care for Alex on my Mac though somehow he seems okay on my iPhone. I do like Karen which voice has been mentioned in this thread.
