Hi Chris, Apple doesn't recommend restoring a backup of your entire system to a different Mac from the one the backup was made from (see https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18848?locale=en_US). While this article refers specifically to Time Machine, it's safe to assume this holds true for any other backup or imaging software as well. You can manually copy certain files and folders, including some content in your user library folder, if desired.
