Hi,

Yeah, Apple doesn’t recommend it, but 99 times out of 100, it won’t cause any 
issues at all.  I use Net Restore images built on an iMac and deploy them to 
just about any Mac, including Minis, various laptops and even to MacPros.  If 
you’re worried about it missing any model specific files, just do a re-install 
over the restored computer and any necessary files will be installed.
