Hi list, I am about to dig into the time capsule setup, and thought it wise to check with you guys what the best solution is.
Basically, i will be installing the time capsule as a router where the cable will directly relay to it, which itself will provide wi-fi connections to 6 users. Does anyone know if in the administration tools, there is a way to limit bandwidth/restrict port accesses for ie torrents and other bandwidth eaters/annex it to a mac os server for security/proxy? Our setup is pretty basic, we have 4 macbooks/macbook pro and 15 windows 7 clients. Only two of the windows clients will have internet, and the rest will be restricted to LAN functions via a linux samba server. Now one thing is that i see a potential loop within the two windows 7 clients which might gather some crap from the net as they will have both ethernet and wi-fi connections. Can i, in definite, setup the time capsule with a snow leopard server to secure the network from outside? I know this is long, but i'm excited about the possibilities :) Thanks, and best Yuma Decaux Light has no value without darkness Skype: shainobi1 twitter: www.twitter.com/triple7 Tel: +85513623378 Yuma Antoine Decaux [email protected] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
