My only thought is that it depends on your output device. Does it always work, 
for example, when you are using internal speakers or standard headphones? Does 
it always fail when you're using bluetooth or USB audio, or some kind of 
external sound card or mixer? Are you sure it isn't a hardware problem, where 
the keys aren't always registering?
