It works fine on a 2012 mbp so I don’t think there should be much of an issue.

The thing a lot of tech mags and such didn’t get is that the entire core
graphics layer has been chassied by openGL and openCl. openGL allows for multi
channeled image buffering on the GPU, lightening the load on the CPU and openCl
uses parallel computing between cores to distribute processing, so the more
cores the better you’re off, but the main thing is that most of the graphics
pipeline has been shifted to an actual 3D based processing paradigm, so a lot
of underlying maths is used to thoroughly increase graphics rendering as well
as decrease significantly the delay between typing or moving and the response.
There’s actually no more delay when you move the voice over cursor around.
absolutely none, even if you go through some groups of items and such. It’s
beautiful. Fredericci is a geek and his intention this time was to go through a
snow leopard type enhancement this time, except that he had the brilliant idea
of layering everything on top of metal. Which completely takes away
encapsulated objects that each assemble independantly whereas with openGL, the
layer takes care of all the sub components.

This shows evidently right now, as I’ve tried all of my heaviest apps such as
xcode, eclipse, safari with loads of tabs, logic pro etc and they run so
smoothly it feels like I just purchased a new mbp. No it feels like I purchased
a future mac with 4 core 5 ghz or something. This is absolutely awesome.

Cheers,
