It also works fine on a late 2011 MBP. Absolutely brilliant and you are going to love it when it comes out in the Fall or when you get your hands on the public beta.

The thing a lot of tech mags and such didn’t get is that the entire core graphics layer has been chassied by openGL and openCl. openGL allows for multi channeled image buffering on the GPU, lightening the load on the CPU and openCl uses parallel computing between cores to distribute processing, so the more cores the better you’re off, but the main thing is that most of the graphics pipeline has been shifted to an actual 3D based processing paradigm, so a lot of underlying maths is used to thoroughly increase graphics rendering as well as decrease significantly the delay between typing or moving and the response. There’s actually no more delay when you move the voice over cursor around. absolutely none, even if you go through some groups of items and such. It’s beautiful. Fredericci is a geek and his intention this time was to go through a snow leopard type enhancement this time, except that he had the brilliant idea of layering everything on top of metal. Which completely
takes away encapsulated objects that each assemble independantly whereas with
openGL, the layer takes care of all the sub components.

This shows evidently right now, as I’ve tried all of my heaviest apps such as
xcode, eclipse, safari with loads of tabs, logic pro etc and they run so
smoothly it feels like I just purchased a new mbp. No it feels like I purchased
a future mac with 4 core 5 ghz or something. This is absolutely awesome.

Cheers,

Hey guys.
I am trying to decide if I should go any higher than Yosemite with my current
computer. Someone recommended that I think about staying in Yosemite because I
have a early 2011 MacBook Pro. I have 8 gigabytes of memory because I upgraded
it. What do you guys think? I suppose I could go to El Capitan (I might have
trouble spelling that one, too) and then hastily down grade it with my Time
Machine if I had problems. I don’t remember if they talked about what systems
could run it or not.

Did you guys notice that Maps is getting the transit app? Does anybody know
what cities is going to be on it? I think they flashed them up there or
something.

Half way through the WWDC stream.

It sounds like some nice features are coming to iOS 9. ( I might revive my
developer account so that I can grab the beta).

Siri becoming more contextually aware will be a huge plus.

Totally missed the stream.

It was being streamed at some disgusting time like 3 AM in Australia.

I just found something out which maybe Apple might fix. I found out that Alex
doesn't know how to say El Capitan properly lol. But getting back on topic,
glad to know that I'll be able to use it on this thing. I missed WWDC today so
did they say when the public will be able to beta test it? I know we get the
beta for iOS 9in July but what about El Capitan?

Wouldn't we beta testers get permission to download the El Capitan beta
automatically? That's really not my main concern, my main concern is will I be
able to run it on my mid 2010 white MacBook? From what I heard on Twitter, it
sounds like El Capitan has an advanced graphics engine or something like that.
So is this the end of the line for me? Yosemite I mean.
