I am unclear on what problems there are when you use a Mac /w/o a
monitor. For a while, with leopard, I'd get hangs. But the problems
seemed to go away with snow leopard. And that was a long time ago.

I just bought a new mac mini of the 2014 and later model. It doesn't require a
monitor. I have one but leave it unplugged.
