Hello Alex,

In the iWork09 version of Pages, when you opened a template containing a date 
field, it was automatically set to today, but in the current version of Pages, 
you have to highlight the date field, bring the mouse, do the VO-Shift-Space 
click and navigate right to the Set to today button and blick it.
