Can you confirm that you are in fact booting the installer? Check that the volume in Finder shows the Install OS X El Capitan application. If it does, then you probably have a bootable disk, but it won’t hurt to recreate it as a last resort. Better if you can avoid DiskMakerX and use the command line, but if not, just give it another try.
