Yes, it makes it all clear.  I just wanted to confirm my thinking about it with 
somebody who clearly knows much more about this.

I shall seriously consider whether it's worth my while to continue subscribing 
to iTunes match.  My mac has 500GB drive which seems to me not to be very much 
considering my love for classical music.  In which case, I think I shall 
explore moving my iTunes library onto a large external drive, most probably 
thunderbolt.  Do you reckon this will work?
