    Do you have a friend who can help you who is local? Sounds like you
    need a lot of training. I know this feeling for I experienced it when
    I first got my Mac four years ago... I think having someone in person
    train you would be less stressful for you.

    Oh, you probably have paragon ntfs installed, and I’ll bet you
    anything that
    your drive is partitioned as ntfs instead of mac journaled
    extended.  That
    would explain it, if so.

    I think it really just depends on how much data you are actually
    backing up.
    I have a friend who backed up about 300GB of data to Time Machine,
    and from
    what I vaguely remember her saying, it took somewhere around 5 hours.
