Hello, I would appreciate feedback on whether any of you are seeing the following problem with VoiceOver and Calendar on El Capitan. I have reported it to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> but they claim they cannot reproduce it.
The problem is that VoiceOver does not speak characters as you arrow over them in edit boxes in the Calendar application under Mac OS 10.11.1. If I move the VO cursor to say the Calendar entry title or the Calendar entry notes VoiceOver only speaks the first character in that edit box. If I then arrow around the edit box Voiceover does not speak any other character. It is as if the VO cursor were not following the insertion point although that is set on in the VoiceOver utility. Ensuring that cursor tracking is on and interacting with the edit box does not help. If I say arrow right 3 characters in the edit box and then enter some more characters then these characters are indeed entered in the correct place, but VoiceOver does not speak the characters. this problem only happens in the Calendar application. As far as I can tell my VoiceOver settings and Calendar preferences are all default values. The only odd thing I can think of is that my Calendar is synced with my iPhone, but I imagine that this is often the case. So are others seeing this problem?
