Hello Paul.

I consider the Mac Calendar horrible on El Capitan as indeed I have see your 
problems.  The other thing I do not like about it is that unlike on the I 
phone, you can’t choose your destinations of where you want to go if you have 
travelled to the same destinations regularly.  On the I phone you can.  I much 
prefer the calendar on the I phone.  The calendar use to be good in Mountain 
Lion but since Yosemite the calendar has been rubbish on the Mac.  Just my 
opinion.
