Hello, I too am a fan of the Apple mail. I do not use classic view., I have 5 lines showing. I just curser down and 5 lines is enough to judge whether I want to open it. Most messages I don’t bother. I just hit the delete key. This is using the wired keyboard. I only expand the thread I want to read. I haven’t found how to have 5 lines displayed for individual messages in a thread. I hit return to open message if I want to read more than the 5 lines. Or in a threaded message. I also use a smart mailbox with all my unread messages. Other rules for my PayPal receipts for example, are automatically moved into their respective mailboxes. I do need to open such messages to gain the read flag.
