It has so many options. No one could use them all. :) The defaults are so useful that I've never really played too much. Having said that, I do find that FN plus M acts as an insert key while n is ignored by carebater. That means the keystroke fn+m+N nicely performs insert N for bringing up the NVDA menu, while fn+M+Q takes care of quitting nvda nicely. Object navigation works well using the number pad created by Carebater.
Some people like to fiddle with their caps lock key to make it act as an nvda key. I think carebater actually lets windows have caps lock by default, so you can just set it in NVDA and off you go. I use shift f10 for the context menu in windows and don't have an applications key mapped but in order to do this, I had to turn off the use of f9 through f12 for some mac OS functions I never use and can't now remember the name of. Maybe it's mission control actually. As I look in my keyboard shortcut settings in system preferences I see that mission control has been mapped to command f9 through command f12. So, maybe that's how I got around it. I needed f9 for kurzweil 1000 at one point too. These days my use of windows is severely curtailed by lack of need and lack of interest, but those are the key things I remember from my ages ago setup of the thing. If you run into specific needs for functions, I'm sure I could suggest ways to set them up.
