Very valid point/idea, but no. At that point in time, Siri wouldn't come up.
I think it landed me in the setup screen. Either way, I tried siri with no
success. Again, I attempted a second time, and kind of sort of got it working,
but things are still acting real squirrely. Like, today at the grocery store.
My watch came unpared for some reason. I finally wound up restarting my phone,
at which point, rather than taking me right back to the lock screen after being
booted, it took me to the slide to setup screen, and made me reenter my ITunes
password, and most likely, probably is now that I'm back home gonna make me
reconnect to my wifi. I assume this based on the fact that when the setup
screen came up, it asked me to choose a wifi network, which of corse for the
time being, I skipped, as I don't know the grocery store's secure password. I
guess I probably could a gotten it, but I was too frustrated to fool with it
right then, plus, we were kind of in a hurry.
Still though, I don't get why all a sudden it's being such a dipwad about
things. Slowly but surely, I'm getting things back to normal, but why in the
first place would it have done this when this backup was taken while the phone
was in perfect condition? The only thing I could think is that the backup
itself is corrupted in some way, but realistically, though not impossible, how
likely would that really be?
Chris.

Hello,
I don’t suppose you had siri turned on? “Turn voice over on” would have done
it.

just so you know it does not put your apps back on the device. it sees
howmany you have backed up and their names and when your all backed up then
your device redownloads the apps to the device. i have over 800 and it takes

Has anyone on I O S ever experienced this?
I had an issue with my phone this morning. I don't know what it
thought it's problem was, but the short version of the story is, I had to
restore the dad blamed thing to factory settings.
I had a backup which I'd made in ITunes. I tried restoring from that
backup, and what a disaster! Out of all 70 something odd apps, I think only
about 20 to 25 of them came down, none of my e-mail accounts were configured
like before, none of my pared bluetooth devices were recognized, therefore
making me have to repare all of them again, my Apple Watch thought it was still
connected, even though the Watch app on my phone didn't see it, therefore
making me also have to reset the watch to default settings in order to get back
where I could reconnect the thing.
Also, on my home screen of the phone, only about 2 of the 6 or 7
folders I'd custom created came down correctly.
Believe me. I've restored many times from various backups, and never
have I had an issue like this. Come to think of it, Voiceover didn't even come
up after restoring. I had to use the very little vision I have, put in my 4
digit passcode, as my touch ID didn't work until I did so, and only then after
putting in the code did Voiceover come up. I couldn't even tripple click the
home key.
I made absolutely 100% sure that this was the most recent backup, and
that all the above things were included in the backup, which they definitely
were.
So, I'm curious if anyone knows what may have happened, and why?
Chris, who is quite annoyed right about now. Shrugs!
