Two more things to consider when using Apple Pay, Sarai, 1. The terminal transmitter is not necessarily directly adjacent to the terminal's display. When I first began using Apple Pay, I would virtually lay the phone against the display of the terminal, while this usually worked, it did not always work. I discovered, over time, that, in some cases, the actual transmitter can be as far as 4 inches above the display.
2. If you have your phone in a case, make certain that the case is not impeding the signal. I'm almost certain this is not the problem but, nevertheless, it is something to consider. For the record, I use a folio style leather case, made by Case Mate, and have never encountered a problem based on the case. Just wanted to offer this for your consideration.
