Hi Jenine,

You can do this using the favourites bar as well. If you explore the main
window of the Mail application using VO+LEFT and VO+RIGHT, you’ll see that
prior to the mailboxes table there is a section listing favourite folders. This
is a horizontal bar that visually appears near the top of the window, and
folders are arranged from left to right. There are built-in keystrokes that you
can use once a folder is in the favourites bar. To jump to the leftmost folder,
you’d press COMMAND+1. For the next folders, you’d use COMMAND+2, COMMAND+3 and
so forth. And to move selected messages to any of these folders, simply use the
CONTROL KEY along with these same keystrokes. For example, I have an archive
folder in my favourites bar which is at position 2, so I can use
COMMAND+CONTROL+2 to immediately archive a message.

AppleVis did a great tutorial on the Mail App which covers this feature, and I
believe the instructions are still applicable. Here is the link:
http://www.applevis.com/guides/mac-apps-mac-os-x-voiceover/macs-mail-app-explained

Hope this helps.

Grant

I’m fairly sure you can do this on the Mac but can anyone tell me how?

I’m in Mail and I want a single key combination to move a message to a specific
folder, saved, receipts, etc.

How do I create that? I almost called it a macro…and that should tell you how
long I’ve been using computers.
