I can’t really say how Splasm is going to design the check printing feature, but I seriously doubt they would implement it in such a way as to allow users to completely print a check on a blank sheet of paper. This is because the routing, account and whatever that third number is called is printed via magnetic ink for automation. I suppose one could purchase a printer that would include magnetic ink, but I presume that would be a prohibitively expensive purchase; one that most of us could not afford.
The usual process for printing checks via computer software requires the purchase of checks referred to as “Quick Books-like” stock.
