We are indeed our own worst enemies. We have such unrealistically high expectations that we collapse with disappointment when Apple does not deliver.

My iPhone 5 is over 3 years old. What can a new phone possibly give me? When the 5 bites the dust then I run down to the store and get a new one, whatever is available.

You know, I tell yuh what would constitute earth shattering. Not an Apple Cart we can drive ourselves. Better than that. Restoration of our sight. Everything else pales in comparison.

So I’ll ask, anyone answer this one too, what do you expect from Apple
in future?

What constitutes new and innovative? Maybe it’s something you never even
thought of but once hearing it, *need* it.

I’m just curious as to what you think should be coming from this company?

At what point does organization maturity get confused with lack of
innovation and stagnency?

Your points would make more sense if we were 2 or 3 years post Steve
Jobs but we’re many years now. My opinion is that Tim Cook may be a
very good operations guy but he’s no innovator nor does he inspire
innovation. Steve Jobs may have been a not in many regards but
whether we like it or not that style did produce a lot of innovation
and creativity. Whether it was under the gun or not is another story
but the fact is regardless of the methods he got results and pretty
consistently got results. Other than the watch, what’s new? A few
music services and streaming options?

The phone has done well. I think Steve Jobs had planned the phone out
for more than 5 years so that has progressed. All the changes post
Jobs though are incremental. No major revolutions.
You make excellent points I just wonder if Apple’s best days are
behind them. I’m thinking seriously of dumping my shares again. I’ve
made decent money on them but I’m not sure how much of a long term
path forward I see with out some serious home runs from the company.

I really think in terms of these presentaitons that we consumers are
our own worst enemy. We now *expect* big things, in March, in June
from WWDC and then again in September/October.

I’m reeling a bit just thinking about iPhone 7 possibly this fall. I
just got a 6s. I know that the new phone plans where you pay each
month and can get the latest and greatest phone are becoming the
thing but at some point I’m afraid we’ll get to that stage where we
can’t be impressed by anything unless it shocks us or is hitting us
with the force of short time spans. I hope that made sense.

Maybe the Spring Event for Apple needs to be toned down. Maybe they
don’t necessarily need to have one.

Was I hoping for more? Yes, but more detail, not more new and
innovative.

For those who feel Apple isn’t blazing trails anymore, what trails?
How do we know this? Just because they aren’t publicly saying
anything about projects doesn’t mean they aren’t happening. That goes
for any company.

I guess my htought on the event as a whole is that it was what it was
and over-analyzing, which we all are guilty of in this 24-hour news
cycle world, can only lead to disappointment…unless Apple sends me
that space Black Milanese Loop band for saying this.

I didn’t take time out of my day to monitor the event, but I am
kinda glad I didn’t hold off on buying the Apple Watch back at

Wonder if anyone else felt the way I did. The event seemed to be a
total waste of time. Watch bands, really? You wanted time out of
my afternoon for watch bands?

In my professional opinion it was serious weak sauce. Wonder what
others thought, is it just me?
