Are there any Office Programs on the Mac that track the cursor when using the Zoom option? I like the mac very much. I was already to get a 24" mac that was being sold off cheaply. However examining the Zoom feature and cursor tracking more thouroughly I discovered that the only program that tracked the cursor when using the Zoom feature was TextEdit. Microsoft Word didn't do this (Word isn't accessible on the mac). I wasn't sure what the "track the keyboard cursor" option meant in the Zoom options dialogue box. I rang up Apple and was told that it was tracking keyboard commands like using Alt-F to get the file menu up in Windows it would move the screen to the menu bar. I mentioned about the cursor tracking problem. The Apple Employee kindly downloaded Open Office to his system and found that Open Office word processor didn't track the cursor in Zoom!
Is there anyone out there using mac magnification (Zoom) with any Office program (other than TextEdit) where the cursor tracks? I tried Google Docs. The spreadsheet is dreadful. It is unusable. The display jumps to the side of the spreadsheet outside the browser on every cell! Needless to say I decided not the buy the mac! I want to use Zoom option rather than VO. I was flabergasted when I found this out. It means that anyone wanting to use magnification on the mac can't have cursor tracking in anything more serius that TextEdit! Your help very much appreciated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
