Try pressing tab until voiceover doesn't say anything, then the VM should have 
control, but VOICEOVER commands will still be used by voiceover, and indeed, 
using the voiceover keys plus anything will activate voiceover, unless you have 
it set to use capslock... Which is what I'll try when using Chrome OS... 
Hopefully then chromevox next will work better for me.
