I have the same problem with my sound system.  My guess is it has something 
to do with power saving technology that doesn't activate the speakers 
unless sound is being produced.  The short bursts produced by Voiceover 
aren't enough to keep the system alive.  I would love better suggestions if 
people have them, but what I do is switch to a bluetooth headset to set 
things up and then turn it off to enjoy the programming.
