Hi Helga, Not the apple store app.
That’s what I would have thought to, in this case the google search said the App Store app! I can’t see how that would make a difference though as itunes and apple giftcards can’t cross credit to each of the other stores. You may have to ask Apple if it can be redeemed into an apple account from your phone.
