Thanks for all of your replies folks, It is extremely hard to decide, since with the increase of ram and storage on the air would bring the price of the air up to relatively become the same as the pro. I liked the air because of their slim light weight form, however, since I do not carry my laptop that often outside my home, I am not sure that the light weight will be a determining factor. I will have to struggle with making the decision for few days then just make a pick.

Any recommendations? This is clearly dependent on what your needs are, and the answer is different based on who you ask. I concur with those suggesting the Air. The single-port MacBook has a strong probability of near-term obsolescence. Then again, the Air is probably due for obsolescence by the same MacBook, so you’re buying for specs, not style. The upside there is that the cost is lower, but the downside is you’ll still pay more for bumping the specs all the way up, which I strongly suggest you do. But, I was one of those who went from an Air to a Pro. Especially if you want to do lots of virtualisation, the Pro really comes into its own. With a quad-core processor and up to 16 GB of RAM, it really helps. If you only run one OS at a time, though, an Air ought to be fine. Don’t forget the Mac Mini. It’s a small-form-factor desktop computer. If you’re only buying for portability, this is an option. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
