Plain and simple, Amazon has their own box for exactly the same price point and 
in a lot of ways it’s a better box.

I just bought one, comes with a 4 core processor, 8 GB of storage but the 
ability to install an SD card of the size of your choice, 4K video, AC 
networking, better voice recognition with Alexa and what do you know it’s also 
becoming accessible.  The latest firmware includes voice view which is still in 
the prerelease / testing phases but it works with all the native Amazon 
features.  It’s no where near as accessible as the Apple TV yet, but I bet it 
will be.  Definitely better hardware.  Rumor has it though that a new Apple TV 
will be released with 4K and a better processor.

That’s why though, Amazon doesn’t want you buying an Apple TV, they want you 
buying an Amazon Fire TV.:)
