Yeah the new itunes I find a pain to work with, Trying to put meta data against my books or music files is just apinfull after being able to do it seamlessly in prior versions

Yup. They really should do that because I only ever use the music portion. I'd use it for podcasts, except downcast does that better. They should have file management and syncing in another app as well. The only reason I bother with iTunes is to sync or update the phone and listen to music.
