The one thing they did that might be considered good is the whole concept of services like Sling TV to at least be able to dump the cable and have a decent selection of channels at a good price, but every time I hear about one of those retransmission disputes they get into with this or that local TV company makes me think about how bad it is for those customers affected by it. I don't think any provider is immune from being pulled over these on occasion, but Dish is the one that seems to make the news with them.

Not happy at all with Dish network and haven’t been for years. My problem starts with the CEO and works on down from there. VZ has a tremendous amount of cash flow but a tremendous amount of debt. Remember they had to buy their way out of Votophone. You’re right though, it does help. You should have seen our lab called building 51 (E.T. should like that reference). We had a whole replication of the VZ network in miniature in our building. I’m not sure if the regulators will allow it but it would be nice for T-Mo to buy Sprint and fix that network or at least put that spectrum to better use. Unfortunately the dish network burger would probably be more easy to make happen, I hope it does not. On Sep 20, 2016, at 12:50 AM, Mary Otten <motte...@gmail.com> wrote: Oh I am sure. They have been talking about 5G testing now for sometime I think. It seems like that's the one thing Vesey has over everybody. They still have the most customers by far, which should mean they have more money than anybody to spend on these kinds of improvements. T-Mobile has been doing well. But they are still number three in the big race, and you would think that would impact of their income over all and thus and their ability to do stuff in the future Sent from my iPhone On Sep 19, 2016, at 9:40 PM, Scott Granados <sc...@qualityip.net> wrote: I like to see the competition, I think it’s a cool thing. Enjoy the read it’s from their CTO and has a fair bit of technical detail which is nice. I haven't seen that yet in my aggregation of tech news. I'm glad to see it's coming to the whole networ. Maybe that means even we out here in Oregon will get it. Smile. Really need that wider coverage out here in the wild wild West. T-Mobile has had carrier aggregation in the network since 2014 and with new advances announced this week jumps back in to the lead being over 2 times faster than verizon with maximum speeds of 400 megabits now available. Two key technologies have been released, 4X4 MIMO and new modulation schema 64/quad upload and 256/quad download. First, 4X4 MIMO allows t-mobile to open twice as many paths to your handset. This means that data is now spread on multiple paths per band effectively increasing the bandwidth ( radio bandwidth) between your handset and the tower. This technology is up and running now in over 251 cities and quickly being rolled out network wide. Second, the new modulation scheme means that more bits per frame or transmission are sent at one time. This upgrade will be fully rolled out across the T-Mobile network by the end of october. Combined these technologies allow for more cells per tower, faster throughput and the ability to offer truly unlimited services with out worrying about user contention or the need to throttle. T-Mobile also announced that it’s network now covers 99.7% of the area that Verizon covers and reaches over 312 million users. Plans continue to not only increase coverage but increase cell density to the highest in the industry surpassing verizon. This means more raw capacity and more towers to carry your traffic.
