Hi, I'll chime in quickly here with some actual data, albeit dated. I recall some tests over 10 years ago where a number of these devices were tested against the Airport Extreme, and the Extreme won in pretty well all categories. Being that it was over 10 years ago,, things have changed considerably. I did, though find this comparison from a couple of years ago that you may find interesting.

There are usually either configurable or built-in filters to assist with the clutter aspect, but, how well they work is a good question. Needless to say, at least from this comparison, the Extreme had the best performance. Again, this is a few years old, so there is likely some great performing competition that may narrow the gap.
