You raise an interesting question.  I wonder about the mini as well.   I think 
the low power desk top is probably dead.  They have the much higher end Mac Pro 
but that’s a very high dollar item.
        Apple hasn’t come out with a new Monitor in a while either that I’m 
aware of and they used to sell one that was vastly over priced especially if it 
hasn’t been updated.  The pound 2000 or so for a decent MacBook pro doesn’t 
seem to unreasonable but it still is a pile of cash.  The price of the MacBook 
pro line did seem to jump up quite a bit in this run.  If you get a fully 
loaded 15 inch model with 2TB of storage you’re looking at over $4000 US which 
is a full 1200 more than I spent for a fully loaded 15 inch from the previous 
run.
