Honestly, it sounds like the way to go if you buy from Apple is just to buy the
unlocked version. You get the better modem and the most options. I’m going to
buy a few iPhones for Christmas will probably go that route myself.

Sorry for the miss information. I was stuck on the part about how the T-Mobile
and AT&T phone won't work on Verizon, but the reverse course as Scott points
out, is not the case.

Hi Phil, few things to note here. If you buy the verizon version of the phone
or the Unlocked version you can switch to any network you wish. The unlocked
and Verizon versions all support CDMA and use the Qualcomm chip, the GSM only
versions like the AT&T and T-Mobile do not support CDMA so in your case you’ll
have the maximum choices available. Remember also that Verizon always ships
their phones unlocked so you’re in good shape if you ever decide to change
networks again and you want to use this phone.
Next, in order of coverage, Verizon and AT&T are very similar, both
are major US carriers so you’re in good shape, T-Mobile is with in a percentage
point of both and Sprint is by far the least covered option. In terms of
network performance, T-Mobile is the best, Verizon is close behind in second
place, AT&T and Sprint are bringing up the rear with Sprint being the worst
performer by far. In terms of advanced Features, T-Mobile is the leader with a
close second in Verizon you could argue they are very similar, AT&T is a year
or so behind maybe a bit more and sprint is behind AT&T as they have poor LTE
coverage compared to the other 3. Bottom line, you’ll be happy with verizon
over all. If you want to try the most advanced network in terms of features
maybe grab a free trial SIM from T-Mobile and give it a 14 day spin to compare.
All 3 carriers T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon offer a home cellular connection
option, you can use WiFi calling on T-Mobile and Verizon and I believe AT&T and
all 3 also have an cellular to internet gateway. T-Mobile has a very good
option I use myself, AT&T has a less advanced gateway but it does work and
Verizon offers something in between. So if you choose to go VZW I think you’ll
like it. Let us know how you make out.

Hi,
I'm buying a 7+ jet black 128 gig phone this week and I am going to switch
carriers from AT&T to Verizon. My questions are these: is Verizon wireless at
least it's good if not better than AT&T as far as coverage goes? I get spotty
coverage with AT&T in certain important places like the gym, and even one bar
at my house. I'm hoping Verizon will get better coverage. By switching to a 1
GB data plan with Verizon, (I rarely use more than half a gig each month), I'll
actually save 10 bucks off my monthly charge for the new phone and the new
plan. What are the advantages to Verizon over AT&T ? is it just a superior
network overall? Thanks for any help
By the way, I selected jet black because, with the phone in hand, I noticed
that the finish is more "grippy" then the other finishes, And doesn't slip out
of my hands so easily.
