I pay 80 dollars per month in nz for my plan and a friend pays 50 austrailian dollars for the same plan except she gets 2 gig more data than I do.otherwise the same. Yes, this is sort of correct. However, in the US, pricing does not include state and/or local sales tax. So, the pricing is, in all but a few states, 7 to 15 higher than the posted price. In NZ and Australia, the price that one pays is the price listed. Australia is less expensive than NZ. Australia has 10 GST, which is included in the posted price. NZ has 15 GST which is posted in the price. When the numbers are run including sales tax for the state, the prices become just a little bit less expensive. The same is true between NZ and Australia. I, of course, enjoy purchasing in Aus as the price is about 6 less. Apple builds a buffer in for currency fluctuations. T-Mobile has a very good option I use myself, AT&T has a less advanced gateway but it does work and Verizon offers something in between. So if you choose to go VZW I think you’ll like it.
