OK, so this all just gets weirder and weirder. If I open the docs I created on my phone from iCloud drive on my Mac, they open in Pages just fine. It's only when I try and open them from within Pages that I get the error message described earlier.
Also, I'm still unable to write in the document I created in Pages on my Mac. I suppose a work-around would be to create the document from my phone, then open it in iCloud, but that is seriously lame!!!!
