I have an iPad. It's used for listening to radio programs, listening to music, occasionally chapters from an audio book. It doesn't replace my laptop, and nor was it intended to. However, I now use laptops both at home and at work. The laptop at work is in a docking station with an external keyboard and monitor, so it's effectively functioning as a desktop system in that environment. Few people need a conventional desktop machine nowadays, since laptops come with so much memory, SSD storage capacity and CPU performance. We may be saying the same about laptops eventually if what we now call phones and tablets really take over. I definitely need something with its own keyboard. I could use a braille display for input, but I'm faster at typing on a qwerty keyboard. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
