Wonder what others think. I was given a brand new in the box MacBook Pro
laptop with the light bar and fingerprint censor. The processor is very good,
runs my virtual machines like a champ. The keyboard is a little less nice but
totally usable, they also gave me a magic keyboard and mouse so I have that
wireless option. The light bar seems fiddly to me though. I don’t like that
you can’t make it default to F1 keys first like you can on the physical keys of
the previous years. I also have to say I love the finger print censor. The
fact no thunderbolt ports are included is odd so I had to get all new dongles.
Comes with a good collection of cables though. I also don’t like you can’t use
your same MagSafe adapter. USBC is nice but they should have given a MagSafe
to USBC adapter so you can use your old adapters.
The other thing is USB C and Lightning feel very similar with lightning
being a tad smaller. I’m always confusing my ends plugging things in. That
and every plug apple still gives you uses the old USB standard so they are
useless with the new laptop.
I have to say, I like my Mid 2015 better over all but it’s not bad.
Wonder what others think?
