Hi,

The first situation occurs when the language is set to a specific language
rather than default.

The problem is occasionally the rotor sets onto language rather than character.
I suspect this is because of the auto switching to actions or messages when
those choices become available, then the rotor sets to the last choice in the
list, which is languages by default. Now, a single-finger vertical flick
changes the language, and when the change is from default to the same voice
selection in the rotor, this is easily missed. So, now the auto-language
switching is not active because the language is set on the specific language
rather than the default language.

Thin, if another single-finger vertical flick is detected, the language could
have changed to Russian, without you really noticing.

I figured this quirk out a few years ago, but have never written accessibility
about the occasional situation. I just move language up one spot in the rotor
settings so it is no longer the last option.

Kind regards,

David Chittenden, MSc, MRCAA
