Hi Simon. This means that your EFI ROM is corrupted, and the computer is in EFI 
rom recovery mode. Unfortunately, this mode is not accessible, and since your 
computer is not new enough, it does not recover on its own. You need a restore 
CD which you can obtain through Apple. I suggest contacting them.
