Simon, I use Apple Configurator often and it is very accessible. I'm more used to the original Configurator as opposed to Configurator 2, but have played a little with 2. Configurator 2 is actually much better, but I just haven't had the time to work with it much. I will be doing so over the next few months though as I need to take control of a bunch of iPads that need updating and are still connected to the original Configurator. If you're just doing minor stuff like you mentioned, there's no real need to go all out on an MDM, Configurator 2 and maybe OS X Server should be fine.

I’d prefer apple configurater simply becase it’s free and hopefully easy to use. But would like to know of any other systems people might be using currently. I have a number of iPhone 4 and 4s devices I need to lock down so people can’t go changing settings on them. Thanks for any info you may have.
