Hi,

You can change the behavior of ClickToFlash, including disabling it
entirely or uninstalling it, and you can automatically add any web
site (e.g. YouTube) to its white list by just doing an Option-Click
(e.g., press the option key of your MacBook and click the trackpad)
while you are on that page. The settings are under the Safari menu.
VO-M to the menu bar, press "S" or Right Arrow to go to the Safari
menu, arrow down and press "C" to go to ClickToFlash and right arrow
to it's submenu. There is a shortcut to load flash to the frontmost
page: Command-Control-F. Arrow down to the Settings menu. To disable
ClickToFlash you can simply uncheck (VO-Space) the checkbox option for
"Enable ClickToFlash". To uninstall ClickToFlash press the button (VO-
Space) for "Uninstall ClickToFlash". To add a site to the white list
of sites where flash loading is automatically allowed, use "Option-
Click Flash to add to white list" as described in the Settings menu.
Alternatively, you can navigate (VO-Right arrow) past the "Whitelisted
Sites" table to the "+" button and press it (VO-Space), then VO-left
arrow back to the table, interact (VO-Shift-Down Arrow), navigate to
the first blank line and double click (with VO-Shift-Space by holding
down Control-Option-Shift and tapping the spacebar twice). Then type
in the URL of the page you want to add.

This menu setup is described under the Usage Notes on the download
page in the six sentences that summarize the Contextual menu (that it
can be found under the Safari menu), the ClickToFlash menu, and
Uninstalling ClickToFlash (that you can press the uninstall button
under Settings).

Here's the description of the ClickToFlash menu:
<begin quote>
ClickToFlash menu: in certain applications, ClickToFlash will activate
a menu item in the application's menu. For example, Safari has a
ClickToFlash menu located at [Safari --> ClickToFlash], near the
"Preferences..." menu item. This gives access to ClickToFlash's
settings window and a few other features. Make sure to visit a page
that has Flash on it to get this menu.
<end quote>

The main reason for recommending this plug-in is that a lot of the
extra load on Safari that is responsible for the Safari busy messages
is due to flash used on web pages -- animated flash ads that
continuously update while you're trying to read content and other
sorts of things. This plug-in keeps unwanted flash content from even
being loaded and provides a quick way to enable flash on pages you do
want (either by using Option-Click to add a page, like YouTube, to
your white list, or by using Command-Control-F to enable flash on your
current page). A user on another list reported that his CPU activity
dropped from 95% to 2% on problem pages simply by installing and using
the ClickToFlash plug-in from:
