I spoke to a person at Vodafone NZ today about this and VF NZ have made the statement that they are going to upgrade to 5G rather than worry about other things in the mobile ranges.

I would think LTE-U had enough lead time for this years phones but you never know. The 600 MHZ auctions are another thing.
