Now that I am in the right place, I have a question about reading and transferring from and transferring to a memory stick.
A little background. I have a braillenote apex on which I transferred two folders to a memory stick called books and Lessons. I want to get into the lessons folder to be able to attach a file to an email. I also want to download into the books folder from Bookshare and read them on my braillenote. Now that you know what I am trying to do, I first want to let everybody know I am definitely still a Mac beginner. I have a book I used to get as far as I did with this. I put my stick in the computer, ′mac mini′, at the volume I pushed command-shift-C. That brought up my list of drives. It was there so I used vo-space to open the drive. That was when I got a nasty surprise. Instead of names like books and Lessons there were just numbers and no way to see what they were. I understand these are just images so if I have to copy them where do I paste them? So questions are: how do I transfer files and folders to and from my stick and how do I get the folders titled. Also, I realize, at least I think, I cannot download directly onto my stick. If I am correct, how do I transfer from the download folder to the stick and will the braillenote read the files if in BRF? Please do these questions step-by-step as I thought I understood what I read but obviously there steps gave me a big surprise. Deeply appreciate any help on all of this.
