Hi Reggie,

Hmmmmm I don't know why that would be that they are named differently
on the Mac. Perhaps next you could just try creating a folder on that
stick from the Mac and also save a file onto it just to make sure the
stick is working properly with the Mac. As you said you're beginning
with this I'll give step-by-step instructions as to how I would do
this. Doubtless there are lots of different ways of doing things so
you might get different instructions from someone else but this is
what I would do.

1. In <finder there are different ways of displaying the
folders/files. Personally I use column view. To put it into column
view press command 3. VO should say "as columns checked" or something
like that.

2. In column view you arrow up and down the list of folders/files,
arrow right to expand a folder and arrow left to go up a level. I
don't know what your settings are (or actually what mine are) with VO
tracking the cursor and so on but I'll tell you again what I do and
hope it works for you.

3. When I'm in finder and VO says "browser" or "browser one item
selected" or whatever I make sure quick nav is off by pressing left
and right arrows together (this is a toggle so if it says "quick nav
on" press it again until it says "quick nav off"). Then you can press
command shift c to get to "computer" and arrow up and down (I don't
have to VO cursor up and down, just the arrow keys on their own)

4. To create a new folder (for testing how this USB stick is
working/whether it's working properly on the Mac), when you land on
the name of the USB stick, press command shift n. On mine, this
creates a new folder called "untitled folder", then I press enter
which is for renaming it, type the new desired name and press enter.
So now that puts me focused on the new folder which is within the USB
drive. So maybe you can arrow up and down more and explore the drive
and see what's there.

5. You could go into Textedit or whatever other text editor you have
and create a test file and save it on the USB drive to again see
whether it appears there as it should. When you press command s to
save then you'll be in a save dialog. You can use the same finder
commands in this dialog for getting to particular locations, so if you
press command shift c it will go to "computer" and then you may need
to move the VO cursor around to get to the browser, switch quick nav
off if it's on and then arrow up and down to select the USB drive, and
if desired you could arrow right to expand it and then up or down to
find that folder you created. Then eVO cursor to the save button and
press it.

So I'm just wondering how this all goes for you and whether you're
able to create a folder on that USB stick and see it named as you
wanted and save something there as you named it.
