Not sure how many people know this, but in Facebook one can often type j to
view the next item. In VoiceOver / Macintosh / Siera this does not work very
well in some cases.

So, what is happening? The actual contents of the post are being marked by
ARIA-DESCRIBEDBY which makes them appear to VoiceOVer as "hints" these can be
disabled or have a multi second until spoken delay. To correct this make sure
in your verbosity settings that the hints are spoken and that the delay is less
then 1/2 a second. Then when on the Facebook main site, and you hit "J" for
next or "k"for previous the reading should be much better.

                Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn
