Cloud based. Maybe I am too old fashioned but it might be worth
looking into. After updating iTunes to 12,7 I had to switch to iCloud
backup for my iDevices but I am still well within the free 5gigs. The
Mac is a different story.

Hi
Time Machine is already doing exactly what you are describing, it only
makes backups of changes as you go along on a daily basis.
Personally I would say for your needs you don’t have to look at anything
else, Time Machine does its thing very well and in the background. If
you want to take your backups to the next level, I would however
recommend you look at a second backup option, a back up to your back up
if you like. The second backup solution is usually Cloudbased and off
site as in not in your home or office. There are a lot of cloud-based
backup services out there, it all depends on your needs, how much you
are willing to spend, and how important your data is to you.

Time Machine does this. I also use Carbon Copy Cloner 5. It too will
do incremental backups. It offers a scheduling option as well which I
will set up later. CCC is not the easiest application to navigate but
once you have created tasks and set the scheduling options, its pretty
much hands off.

Hi,
So, I am finally doing backups on my mac. right now, I am using time
machine.
I know there are other solutions out there, and am wanting feedback
about them. What I eventually want is for the back up solution to do
a backup, then only update the backup when new things happen or are
added. Is there something out there to do this? Can time machine do
this?
thanks!
