Um no not really! Burning a USB or creating a USB as an installer for windows can’t really be done this way.
However in sayin gthat if you are using BootCamp to create your windows machine then yes your friends mac can be used to create an ISO image of the windows installation Disk. This ISO file is what BootCamp will look at / for on your computer as part of the windows installation through BootCamp If this is not how you are looking to instll windows on your mac book then the image file of the windows disk can also be used to install windows in a vm on your mac. A windows USB device installer will need to be created on a windows computer Hope this helps. Hi all, please do bear with me as I’m not the most technologically-minded person around, but I do pick things up pretty fast. I have a Windows 10 install DVD, but my Mac doesn’t have a CD drive. I was wondering if it’s possible to use a friend’s Mac to burn the DVD onto a thumb drive and install onto my Mac that way? If so, how big of a flash drive would I need to reliably achieve this task, and how would I go about actually doing the burning process? Also, if anyone has any resources on VM Fusion or any other kind of dual-booting software for the Mac, please feel free to share all your knowledge and opinions, as I”m still deciding how to do this. Thanks so much for all your help, and at risk of this ballooning into a large topic, feel free to write me off-list to minimize traffic: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.
