I've never seen that happen. An easy way to put apps back on the
dock is to open the app, go to the dock and find its icon. Up arrow on
it to the Options item, right arrow to open its submenu, up or down
arrow to the Keep in Dock item and press enter.

them using Spotlight, but command shift T does not seem to work for Apple
applications that are typically on the Dock, and trying to drag and drop as per
