Hi Chuck. Pro Tools is a whole new environment and like you say, with multiple microphones of various types.
Check out the Zoom H6, 6 track portable digital recorder. I purchased it about two years ago and I'm managing to keep my head above water, recording in Blue Ray format, with a device that can fit in my pocket. While you are at it, check out the Zoom, 7,8 and I think 10. We are now getting into real money now and you would need to seek the opinion of Mr Neal Ewares, concerning the quality. I suppose if pro tools is accessible on, for example, a macbook pro, then that's a different question. If only. But I think that pro tools is too large a learning tool for me. Very interesting stuff, nevertheless, eh, for us blind guys, being able to do this in any case! Very best wishes. Andy. >From Scotland with Love. ----- Original Message ----- From: CHUCK REICHEL To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, December 06, 2017 5:41 PM Subject: Re: Editing and managing WAV files, using voiceover on a Mac Hi, Note that local bands and choirs are the recording requirement. These are multitrack most of the time and or several pairs of microphones. Thats why I suggested Avid pro tools. I've used all those other apps and there is NO! comparison to the ease of Pro tools 12.8.2 for a real world situation. Talk soon Chuck On Dec 6, 2017, at 11:12 AM, Nektarios Mallas wrote: Hi Andy. If you only need to record process and manage stereo recordings and some multi track capabilities, I think that your best bet is to use Amadeus pro. If you need more advanced stuff such as recording multi track to your mac through a good quality audio interface etc, then you could use ither garage band or logic pro X. If you can be more specific about what you want to do, we can help you better. nektarios. On 6 Dec 2017, at 13:34, andy <[email protected]> wrote: Hi all. Since losing my vision, my interests have moved from Photography to Audio recording. Using the Windows platform and Goldwave alongside a high end digital recorder, I do a lot of work for local bands and quires and such. Now that I'm finally getting into my Mac, I wish to start using Garage Band with Voiceover for doing all the work my Windows machines were doing. I know there are loads of musicians out their with low vision, so assuming they may be recording their work, I thought I'd ask the list if Voiceover using Garage band was possible. Thanks. Very best wishes. Andy. From Scotland with Love. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
